In the late 1800’s, a small summer cottage was built on this site as part of the Soo-Nipi Lodge, a grand hotel located on Soo-Nipi Park Road. The cottage was purchased by our grandparents in 1930 and their three children spent summers here, as have two subsequent generations. The two buildings with rough hewn exteriors, the “Shop” and “Woodshed,” were built with wood from the 1938 hurricane. In 1987 the original cottage was renovated and winterized, followed by the Boys House in 1994.
Our privilege in keeping Shore House in the family rests on our valued guests, who help us fund the annual carrying costs. Thank You! We value You as much as much as we value Shore House, where we grew up, and which we continue to treasure.
